Brandon's Story
Brandon Jackson is a public speaker and relationship coach from Indianapolis, Indiana. He believes that success in life begins when you know how to love yourself first and when you can love others regardless of their flaws. Brandon was introduced to adversity at an early age. When he was three years old, he was in a car accident that left him paralyzed and in a coma. Within a year's time, through aggressive rehabilitation and love, he re-learned to walk and talk again. And with renewed vigor, Brandon tackled life head-on. He became an avid writer. With his passion for making a difference through writing, Brandon realized he had the gift of encouragement, after meeting his wife, Rosalind. Brandon began organizing workshops on healthy relationships and dating. Brandon has spoken at various elementary and secondary schools, as well as colleges around the Midwest. Brandon's goal is to carry his message of inspiration about life and how to succeed in relationships. Brandon believes that everyone on Earth has a gift inside of them. He discovered his gift when he realized that it wasn't just for him. He realized it was a gift when he first started speaking his message into the lives of others.
It’s all about relationships:
In December 2005 I discovered the true meaning of love. It was in the hospital room of a dear friend who had been injured in a senseless act of violence. I realized that day that the woman I had been dating for the past year would be my wife. She was there for me, and she supported me during a difficult moment in my life. And I was in love. God had used a relationship to change my life forever. He had used a relationship to bring me into a deeper relationship with Him. I discovered that the reason why so many people never find true happiness is because they never take the time to understand that a healthy relationship is not discovered, but created. I made up in my mind in 2006 that I would commit my life to sharing my testimony of how God delivered me from unhealthy relationships and blessed me with a healthy marriage. It was during one of my darkest moments in life that I heard God say, “You can’t find true love until I become your first love.” I have conducted workshops on relationships, dating, discovering love, and preparing for marriage. I have spoken at colleges throughout the Midwest and at churches in Indianapolis. I never claim to have all the answers when I am conducting my workshops because finding the answer is not what’s important. My focus is to help others become the mate that God has created them to be, by discussing real issues that will prepare them for a healthy relationship. It’s been said that, “It’s not about finding the right mate, but becoming the right mate.” My hope is that as I share my story, others will be inspired to make a positive change in their lives as it relates to relationships. I look forward to speaking at your school, church and/or organization.
